Paper WriteInk Write Does Not Produce Creativity

'Paper Write'Ink Write' Does Not Produce CreativityThe first time I heard the term 'paper write' I was in my late teens, my friend had asked me to write her a letter and I knew nothing about the word but it sounded rather cool. I was a little confused about what she meant by paper write but soon came to understand that what she meant was to make copies of old post-it notes on the page.My friend thought it would be a good idea for me to write a note with my pen, on the page, 'be a little careful with your pen', 'I don't know why you have to tell me this' I retorted as I jotted the notes down on the paper. I realized I couldn't write a novel using this as a way to begin the book, nor could I go on to write an article using 'paper write'. It was a half-baked idea, but it got me thinking about the tool of choice for writers, the pen and paper. What can we do?Writing on paper with a pen and paper is sometimes considered the rough equivalent of the equivalent of 'writing' on a laptop compu ter. I don't like this comparison, but it really does give a window into what's on a piece of paper. I'm not sure why many writers think about this, it just doesn't compute for me.If we allow for that paper and pen can be 'writers' in the same way that laptops are 'personal computers' then one might question if there is anything wrong with that. Can you find something wrong when you have a digital pen and paper? For writers who feel paper and pen can provide a better writing experience than a laptop, I would suggest some self-awareness and some introspection to determine if this truly is the case. This can be especially true if you rely on the pen and paper to help dictate your next story or essay. The reality is that most writers who write on a laptop computer and rely on the pen and paper to write often need some tweaking to their writing process. I have actually considered getting a pen and paper so I can write my next novel on there. I don't like this process and I don't like writ ing with a pen and paper. I write better using a word processor, editor, or even Google Docs.Of course, I've been known to 'write' a story or piece of writing on my laptop and then copy it to a notebook, and then write some more with a pen and paper. I still like having the pen and paper handy, I just prefer to write on a piece of paper. Sometimes you just need to get out of the chair and move your body to write the next story. It really depends on the mood of the moment.I think one of the greatest advantages to this 'paper write'ink write' style of writing is that it provides a creative way for writers to work independently, it allows a writer to test their skills without the distraction of distracting others. The ability to make mistakes and learn from them is important in a writer's life, and it certainly can be a great benefit to have an 'ink on paper' creative experience.
